Kimmi had never believed in God.
That being said, there was really no purpose for her to be standing outside of an old abandoned church, was there? Of course there wasn't. But it was cold, and the church looked warm, despite it's many cracks and creaks.
She looked around, hoping no one would see her, no one would think she was a nutty bible thumper, her worried brown eyes scanned the streets again, before she opened the door and pushed inside.
The church was warm, but in an eerie way. It stood silent and open, awaiting a Sunday service that would never come. Kimmi was strangely at ease, though. She was wary, of course, everyone was. But the wariness was easier to bear with at this moment.
She checked beneath the pews and around the alters, making sure that no one was inside the church with her. No one bad anyway, then, with a sigh, she sat in one of the wooden pews, laying on her side and curling up.
She wouldn't sleep, she hadn't in way too long, but just lying here, with her eyes shut was good for a few moments.

It was becoming later in the day, close to dusk when El stumbled past the old church. Every day on her outings she would pass the place but it never occurred to her to actually enter. Was it her imagination or did it actually seem like the place held a little life in it today? Cautiously she gripped the end of her stick and gave it a little twist, enough to show that there was really a blade sheathed inside. She had been pretty lucky to find this, it helped through the long walks and incase she were to get into any combat, she was armed. With caution she slipped between the two entry doors and scanned the room. From the looks of it there was nothing there, but her senses continued to tell her otherwise. Now you know if Alyson where here she would be yelling at you and telling you to go back. With that thought, a smirk twisted on her lips and she locked the blade back into place. If she had learned anything from the time that she had been out on her scout outs, it was to cover any vulnerable side possible and really, every side is vulnerable. El watched down every pew while crouching to see if there may be anything under as well. It was then that she saw the lounging figure. The breathing was relaxed but not slow enough or deep enough to be sleeping. Again she unsheathed the blade and used the hallow part to poke the figure. She wasn’t sure if this was just a person or someone that had just been infected. Either way El wasn’t about to take a chance.
